THINGS TO KNOW

Levels:

K-2nd grade           Flag team                   16 player roster

3rd grade                  C Team                        18 player roster

4th-5th grade         B Team                         25 player roster

6th-7th Grade        A Team                         25 player roster

Each participants family will be responsible for game day duties on the field at least 2 times throughout the season.

If your child misses practice, they may not be able to play some or all of the following game.  Attendance is imperative.

League rules require a certain number of plays for each participant per game. Greece Cardinals will try to make play time more equal especially amongst participants who show dedication and effort during practice. 

PRACTICE SCHEDULE & LOCATION

Football practice starts August 1st and is held at Basil Marella off English Rd.

A, B, C practice is Monday-Thursday 6pm-8pm for the month of August. Flag practice is Tues-Thursday.

Once school starts, practice for A, B, C is Tues-Thurs and Flag is Tues and Thurs only. 

Practice will resume in heat, rain, sleet or snow unless the conditions are unsafe according to League rules. (Temperature index and field conditions will be monitored by the president of the organization) 

FEES

A, B, C is $300 registration fee

Flag is $150 registration fee

WHAT DOES THE FEE INCLUDE

The fee includes:

  • The use of a game day jersey, game day pants, practice jersey, practice pants, helmet, shoulder pads and rib pads for tackle players.  For flag players, this includes game day jersey, shorts, flags and flag belts. 
  • The use of equipment used in practice such as cones, tackle bags, footballs, and medical equipment,.
  • The use of practice fields and game day field 
  • The use of concession stand at home games
  • Insurance for the organization
  • RYFC League fees
  • Referee fees
  • Security guards for home games  (NEW for 2024)

MANDATORY ITEMS TO PURCHASE

Cleats, mouthguards, athletic/protective cup 

GAME SCHEDULE & LOCATIONS  

The 8 game schedule is created by the RYFC League and is TBD. 

Our home games are played on Athena Varsity turf field. 

Games start the last weekend in August, played on Saturday OR Sunday, each weekend except Labor Day weekend. 

Registration forms need to be printed and either mailed or dropped off.  Registration will only be accepted with all documents completed. (6 pages printed, signed where applicable by parent AND participant, photo on the application page,  plus a copy of the birth certificate). Once all forms are received, you should get an email confirmation within a few days.  INCOMPLETE PAPERWORK WILL NOT HOLD A SPOT ON THE ROSTER.  NO EXCEPTIONS. 

Medical forms required need to be dated AFTER 8/1/2023. If you have those, submit those with registration. If your child has a physical coming up, those forms can be submitted later but it has to be before the first day of practice.
